Tide Pools, is a mixed media abstract work and is a combination of plywood, plywood chips, aluminum foil, white bread, copper chips and powder, vinegar, resin and some careful blowtorching. The making of this piece was very exciting as I viewed the daily changes brought about by the interaction of the sun and my spraying of the piece with a vinegar and salt mixture. Unlike most of my pieces, my interaction with regard to the coloring was minimal. It was a matter of spraying every few hours and then waiting for the sun to do the real work of creating the colors and pattens that completed the compositional elements of this piece. Prints of a modified version of this work are available in the Abstract Prints section of this website in a wide range of sizes, on a variety of different media types.
