I have always been fascinated by the mysterious crop circles which many farmers around the world have claimed to have appeared in their fields overnight. After watching a crop circle documentary, I decided to experiment with creating a vividly colored interpretation of my own.  Crop Circles, was created through the modification of a photo of the shadow of a sidewalk railing in Seaport Village in San Diego. The original photo does not directly display any of the vivid colors produced through the modification process. Also, no digital painting was applied to the original. The colors were all extracted through the use of various editing techniques. The three dimensional effect was created through the layering of pieces of cut canvas and a layer of clear resin provides a glass-like finish. Prints of a modified version of this work are available in the Abstract Prints section of this website in a wide range of sizes, on a variety of different media types.
